Wisconsin born and bred, I grew up in a one horse town not too far from the shores of Lake Michigan.  It was an idyllic post-war childhood of cartoons and Sesame Street, that era on the border of baby boomers and generation X.  The Big Wheel was a popular item back then--skid break preferred.  (The description under the link touts the Big Wheel's safety... not the way we rode them!)  However, I personally owned a Krazy Kar, the yellow/red version from Amloid, which should explain a lot.  (Guess I'm not the only one who remembers spinning around on the thing.)

My senior year I played soccer under coach Tony Pierce.  Soccer was a bit of a revelation, and only great memories.  I think we all had so much fun playing as a team that we failed to notice that we actually won most of the time.
